There are so many ways to learn about food in our great city and I’ve been very lucky the past couple months to be privy to a few of them. The first is a great walking tour of Ottawa hosted by C’est Bon Cooking. It’s a way to look at the city in a way you never have before – through its food history. I was thoroughly entertained and would recommend it to anyone who is visiting or living in Ottawa. It’s a great way to eat your way around the city! For a more complete review check out this great posting from Whisk: a food blog.

And stay tuned for an interview with the ladies from C’est Bon Cooking!

My next step was to attend a cooking class put on by the wonderful crew at The Urban Element. Taught by Chef Larissa Beznaczuk-Smyrnew – this class gave me a wonderful introduction into Spanish cuisine. With a variety of different classes, a gorgeous kitchen and a staff of wonderful food loving people – The Urban element is a great place to get adventurous!

Here are some pictures from that night:

There are many different venues around the city for those learning the basics of cooking (check out my in home lessons for the beginner cook here *shameless plug*), for those wanting to go to a world class culinary school and everything in between. Where are you learning more about food and cooking?
