Today I posted a recipe from one of my all time favorite cookbooks – The Joy of Cooking. If you need a recipe for almost anything it’s in there, and more often than not it rocks! So today’s challenge – Show me a picture of one of the cookbooks you use most often. And remember, every comment on this post is entered to win a $50 gift certificate to CSN.

Jamie at Home is my bible. Not the easiest recipes of all time but all recipes I have tried (at least 30) are great.

Because we are participating in the Charcutepalooza project, the book I have open most often right now is Michael Ruhlman’s Charcuterie.
The book I have open second most often is the Bread Baker’s Apprentice. http://foodieprints.tumblr.com/post/2968466796/project-365-020-365-kozliks-mustard-and-bread
I’m trying to teach myself how to bake better bread…
A book I plan to have open regularly after Feb 15 is Chef Martin Kouprie’s Pangea: Why it Tastes so Good
Jenn and I love Chef Kouprie’s restaurant in Toronto. The food photography in the book is simply stunning!

I’m always turning to the Better Homes Cookbook…an oldie but a goodie 🙂 (helps that it has all those pictures too!) http://images.amazon.com/images/P/069621881X.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

My favourite is Canadian Living’s Everyday Favourites cookbook. Last April when I had no idea how to cook, this book swept in and saved me! Now I’m a self proclaimed foodie!

These days I have been using the book “Crazy about pasta” by Bridget Jones alot: http://bit.ly/f7Ufyy The recipes range from traditional recipes to new creations. The dishes are all tasty and rely on basic ingredients readily available in my pantry – no special ingredients required.

Love love love Tossed: 200 Fast, Fresh and Fabulous Salads I picked up in a bargain bin somewhere. My favourite section is “Ladies Who Lunch” 🙂

@amwaters
These two books have been very good to us. Work horses I guess.

The Slow Mediterranean Kitchen and also Cooking At Home With the Culinary Institute of America.
But based on the bookshelf you can see it is hard to pick. And that isn’t all of it. More in bookcases downstairs, on coffee tables, on night tables. And don’t get me started on food magazines!

Good fun though, don’t you think?
