There is a pretty neat event coming to the Ottawa area, and I got to say I’m a little miffed that I wont be in town to partake. But that’s no reason that you shouldn’t know about it and grab yourself some tickets if you are free!

Hosted by Savour Ottawa on Sunday August 28, teams of chefs work together to create a family style meal made from the local fare of Ottawa area farmers. There will be tents set up in Parkdale Park (right near the market), where two seatings of lucky diners will get a three course meal and two samples of beer and/or wine. Tickets are $50 each and available here. Seatings are at noon and 2pm. There are only 100 tickets per seating, so if you are interested I would suggest acting quickly!

Farmers participating in the event include:

  • Trillium Meadows Red Deer & Wild Boar Farm
  • Bryson Farms
  • Upper Canada Heritage Meat
  • Fitzroy Beef Farmers Cooperative
  • Clarmell Farms
  • Hall’s Apple Market
  • and more…

The talented chefs come from:

  • Thyme & Again Creative Catering
  • Fairmont Château Laurier
  • The Green Door
  • 42 Crichton Street Fine Foods
  • The Branch Restaurant
  • Credible Edibles
  • The Piggy Market
  • The Whalesbone Catering
  • among others…

If you  go – tell me how it was! I’ll be grumbling jealously all day that day…
