This is going to be quite a Sunday for food events!!  In addition to the Savour Ottawa Local Harvest Lunch (one sitting at noon and one at 2) there is a fundraiser for the Ottawa Humane Society going on at 2!

So here are the details of yet another great food event going on in our lovely city. From the press release.

Chef Kurt Waldele, former Executive Chef of the National Arts Centre and owner of KW Catering, had a passion for animals that rivaled his passion for food.  For many years, Kurt held a Summer Harvest Garden Party at his Cumberland estate to raise money for the Ottawa Humane Society.

Sadly, Chef Waldele passed away in 2009 and friends of Kurt have teamed together this year with dozens of local Chefs to present this OHS fundraiser in his memory.  Guests will have the opportunity to sample food from more than 20 Ottawa area Chefs, and wines from Niagara, Prince Edward County and beyond. They will enjoy food prepared by the Chef’s from some our local embassies, a rare treat indeed. Partnering with them are Chefs from some of the City’s most renowned hotels. It will be one of the highlights on Ottawa’s culinary scene.”
